First off, I have to say, this author is pretty good at weaving this fictional tale of gay romance involving human/animal shifters. Good enough that I've had to purchase all 4 in this series and then the first of another series that continues it, despite the MANY negatives encountered regarding these books. I might have rated these books 4 or 5 stars if not for all these negatives. And, if it weren't for the author's writing ability to keep my interest in the story, because of all the negatives, I might have rated these books 2 stars or even 1 star!First and foremost of the negatives is the way that the paperback versions of these books were published.
The preface's in each book warns you that "this e-book is copyright protected." So, you know that this book was basically copy/pasted from the electronic book version, without much editing.
In fact, and especially in the first book, but consistently through out the series, there are so many spell-check errors, it's impossible to think anyone did ANY PROOF READING of the story before publishing. By spell-check errors I mean the automatic corrections that were not read over after changes were made, for example using the word 'week,' when the correct word that should have been used was 'weak'.
In addition, because of the abhorrent copy past publishing of each book in this series, the FONT SIZE of the text of the entire story is so huge, you could likely read it from across the room. The pages could actually be used in an eye doctors office!
But, that's not all!! The text is all formatted as 'Centered' and the amount of text on each page fills half or less of each page, so that there is as much or more blank page as there is text on each page, in each paperback! Therefore... (and if the pages were even numbered!!!) where the paperback books are thick and novel like, seemingly 300 or more pages, the story itself would likely cover only about 150, if it were formatted and normally published!!
Also, there is the continual and far too explicitly described gay love scenes that are all too frequent in most gay romance and fiction. But here, they often completely upend the story, especially in the middle of some suspenseful episode. For instance, when two of the mated characters are searching for their kidnapped friends, where time is of the essence to find them, seemingly out of nowhere, the author finds the need to have the characters spend several hours having explicit sex! This happens time and again! You're getting into a suspenseful part of the story and then, boom!, there's pages of explicit sex to wade though before you can continue with the story to find out what happens!
And, I know that it seems like a majority of gay romance or fiction authors seem to want to include play by play sex scenes as if there readers are masturbating to their stories, but if I wanted to read gay porn I certainly wouldn't buy any fictional gay romance work. I'd buy porn! And if that were not bad enough, with book 4 of this series, instead of the sweet and normal love making of the mating pairs, the author introduces Submissive/Dominant relationship sex and includes sex toys! I almost put the book down and stopped reading, but luckily the story continued without too much kinky sex included.
What I can't understand, is that this author seems to be a pretty good writer! Not great really, as the story itself has plenty of holes and unanswered questions, but still pretty able to keep the readers interest enough to have them continue buying the next story in the series. And, when you look up the author's other works, there are SEVEN PAGES of books on Amazon attributed to him!! Therefore, 1. He's been around and writing books for years, and 2, he's a good enough writer that people have bought a lot of his stories. So, how can he not be able to publish an actual paperback book without the horrendous copy/paste, centered, huge text, without seemingly any editing!! It makes NO sense!
I'd like to check out other series by this author. They look interesting and I'm pretty sure I'd like them. However, the callous way these paperbacks were published, and copy/pasted onto actual paper pages, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth! There are plenty of other good authors that are willing to take the time publish an actually well edited paperback from their electronic versions. So, I'll likely not read this author again, nor purchase any of his paperback's again.

False Start The Mating Games Book 3 edition by Cree Storm JP Graphics Designs Avril Stepowki Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Dun dun dun.......!!!
That is what I heard in my head when I finished this book.
This is the story of the mating of Joop (beaver shifter) and Kahn (Vampire). Kahn did not have his head on straight when he first met Joop, but now that he has seen him again, he refuses to let him go. Joop was crushed that his mate did not want him. Now that he is back and a crazy councilman is jeopardizing their mating, he will do anything.
I love how the group of friends (and their parents, I mean who doesn't love Gladys!) band together to right the wrongs of this Councilman and will in the future.
The book continues the intrigue around Councilman Eagan and what he thought he knew about his family. Cree when is book 4?
Poor Joop all he ever wanted was to find his mate and live happily ever after. Well fate decided to bitch smack Joop in the face cause his mate denied him. Kahn never thought that his mate would be a man. He's thousands of years old and thats just something he was raised to believe in. So when Joop yells across a crowed room that Kahn is his mate will Kahn freaks out a little. Ok a lot but after the initial shock he comes around but his mate is long gone. When Kahn attends the mating games he's shocked to find his mate again and he's determined to make him his. Only problem Joop and Khan get kidnapped before they can say anything. That evil councilman Troy is determined to get Joop and his friends to work on his experiments. Can Joop and Khan find there way out of this mess. Will they be able to safe their friends and the others that the councilman has trapped. Will Joop be able to forgive his mate for denying him in the first place? This is one the best series I've read this year. I love the characters and the story line. It's absolutely worth the read.
OMG this series is so good I want more
I couldn't get enough of this original and wonderful story where it's ok if you're different. Joop and his friends are amazing in their originality and the rest of the characters and mates just made me want more. Then there's the twist and turns in the adventure they all go on. Can't wait for the next book.
